Further Information

Michael Prestele is a Research Associate at the Institute for German as a Foreign Language at LMU and a doctoral candidate in the Class of Language (Graduate School Language & Literature Munich). In his dissertation project, he focuses on the textual phenomena of foreign language academic writers. The aim is to contribute to the foundational research in writing studies, aiming to uncover the actual practice of foreign language academic writing in higher education. In addition to considering sociolinguistic factors influencing writing, the corpus linguistic analysis focuses on the discourse-constituting features of scientific texts, including discursivity, authorial management, objectivity, and text structure.

My tip: I know of no better tool for thinking than writing.

Consultation focus: Strategies for (multilingual) academic writing.
